Woodcock & Snipe in the bogs of Ireland

We offer the discerning gun an exceptional hunt for the elusive Woodcock and its swift cousin, the Snipe! We have an area of some 25,000 acres where these birds abound. There are Stalkers and others with dogs to assist your group, ideally four hunters, to execute mini drives.

From the moment you land till it is time to leave, you will be looked after by the very attentive staff of the Estate. What we offer is three days of shooting with four night’s full board. Dinner is prepared by our very own Chef.

After breakfast you will leave for the hills around Glenmore where you will realize why the birds thrive there. The area consists mainly of marshes and bogs surrounded by ever greens, the perfect terrain for Woodcock and Snipe. If it is ideal for the birds it is less so for the hunter but who said hunting should be all easy? The weather decides whether the birds are driven or shot over pointing dogs. You will manage a couple of drives in the morning and another two to three in the afternoon after which you will long for a hot shower and a god meal. However, we are convinced you will be rearing to go the very next morning!

You will, no doubt, be surprised by the quantity of birds present and will be talking about this hunt for many years to come.
